Sunday night

I don't know what it is exactly, but I am not a huge fan of Sunday nights. I guess it's because it's the end of the weekend and the start of a new work week, or school week, as the case has been over the years. Now, I understand if I didn't like my job why I wouldn't want to go to work, but I like my job, so is it just because I'd rather be at home in general? Is it because last Monday, although working, I was in Utah attending training, and not in the offfice? Or because next Monday I will be on vacation at the beach and not in the office? Or the Monday after that I Labor Day, so I will get a holiday and not be in the office?? Is it because I just don't want to work tomorrow because I don't have to work so many Mondays in a row? I have no idea... I just get so sad when the weekends are over!

I got home from Utah on Tuesday just fine. It was a simple, easy flight and I read the entire way home. I don't get to, or take the chance to, do that very often, so it was great. It was so great to see the kids that afternoon. Then, my mom has a hair appointment that night, so she left, and Matthew had Boy Scouts, so my dad took him to scouts, and I was home all alone with Maia. We had a wonderful evening playing outside and enjoying the cooler (80's) less humid weather. It was so much fun watching her play!

The thing that has occupied the majority of my time the past week, however, has been the Olympics. I swear, I go in stages weather I watch or not over the years, but this year, I can't turn them off!! I watched Michael Phelps make history last night, and Matthew enjoyed watching every race and watching him win!! Some handily, some not so easily! In any case, we watched history being made and it was awesome!! Now, this has meant that for over a week I have gotten very little sleep and this weekend, finally got to make some of that up!! Believe it or not, all THREE of us slept in until 10 a.m. on Saturday!! Then, today, we got up at 9:15 a.m. This morning, I think Maia had been up for a few minutes, at least, before I got up, but she didn't make a sound.

This morning, we went to a Civil War Reenactment weekend/day. We went to a WWII one in July and the Civil War this weekend. It's not my favorite thing, I'm not that good with history, nor do I care too much... But, Matthew loves it, and I actually learn a little from going as it is different from learning it out of a text book, which I am no good at regarding history. It was a pleasant day and we enjoyed it. Maia was great in her stroller the whole time! (A little less than 2 hours.)

I wanted to grill out tonight, but never did make it to the grocery store this weekend - so we ate a frozen pizza... it was fine - but I wanted some good, grilled, summer food! Maybe next weekend at the beach!

OK, I'm going to post a few pictures and go read some more and go to bed. Hope you all have a great week!!

View from room in Utah... Awesome!

Maia has started sleeping with her bottom up in the air - I think that is so cute!!

At night, Maia falls asleep with her foot hanging out of the crib. Sometimes like this, against the wall, and sometimes the other way, hanging out in the open!!

Maia sharing her bubbles with me...

Maia and Matthew. We had gone to a birthday party for one of Maia's friends and she was in a party dress... Of course, by the time I got home and took a picture, her hair was all in her face, her socks and shoes were gone, but I still wanted a picture!! :)

Maia enjoying her (self-fed) yogurt! Yes, she did actually get SOME in her mouth!! :)

Again so many similarities between our girls! Sleeping bottoms up and leg hanging out of crib or resting it on the bumper pad. They are twins!
Glad you enjoyed your trip! Sunday nights do have a strange feeling for me too! Not sure what it is except weekend letdown that it's over.

I totally agree about Sunday evenings... it's the weekend being over for me... and the dread of the week starting... as always I loved the pictures...

Logan sleeps with a foot or both feet out sometimes. He likes to press his head on one bumber and then press his feet on the crib slats.--Funny that they do these things! I love your blog--it's so fun to read and hear out your life!!! It's awesome that you are doing this.

I think not liking the weekend to end goes back to childhood. School on Monday! Ack!

That is one special, adorable child. I feel very connected to Maia. Hugs, baby girl!
