Can't Think of a Title....

We made it to Almaty. Maia was great on the plane. We sat near the engine/propellers, so my head is still 'loud' from the 4 hours of loud noise. (The rap music here in the internet cafe isn't helping my head much...)

We are safe and sound - but no phone or internet in the apartment, so we'll be spending some time at the internet cafe to communicate with people at home, people here in Almaty and Masha back in Petropavlovsk.

So far, there is good news. It's looking like we'll be to keep our Sunday tickets!! Maia's passport came today and there's a chance we get to leave as scheduled. WOW! When does that happen? We'll see - but I'm hopeful at the moment. It's been a long day (but fine) so I'm grasping at all straws dangled out in front of me.

We are fine - but ready to be home. So, let's hope Sunday works out!!

Weather here is nice - much warmer than Petropavlovsk, so that's a boost for us too. We're ready for spring.

Wouldn't Sunday be phenomenal? That's only a few days away! I bet the thought gives you so many butterflies it hurts to think about it.

We were in the same camp- we arrived on Friday, and our scheduled flight out was for the next Saturday. All of our appointments were completed by Tuesday so we could easily leave on the Wednesday flight. Except for one catch- it was summer and the flight was fully booked! Bummer! Our travel agent pulled a miracle out of his hat (or is that rabbit?) and was able to get us not just 2 seats, but THREE on the Wednesday flight. Sayonara Almaty!!!

I will pray that the same happens for you with your situation, and you will be able to spend part of this weekend at home-sweet-home!

Kristin,

I haven't commented in a while, but I keep checking in. Congratulations on getting custody of Maia. She is so darned cute! You must be over the moon.

I hope that you finish all your business in Almaty and head home to be reunited with the rest of your family soon.

Angela
